Facilipay for Charities

Take card donations on payment terminals in person, in self-service kiosk mode and through shareable donation pay-by-link — all from one Donations app.

Donations made simple — in person, at a kiosk or by link

Cash giving keeps declining, but supporters still want to give in the moment — at an event, in your foyer, after a service or when an appeal lands in their inbox. Facilipay's Donations app makes that easy. Volunteers can take a tap-to-donate on a smart terminal, an unattended kiosk in the lobby can collect donations 24/7, and a shareable donation link lets supporters give from a single tap on their phone. Every donation, from every channel, flows into one place.

And for UK charities, Gift Aid is built into the giving flow. After choosing an amount, donors can make their declaration on screen in a couple of taps — adding 25% to every eligible gift at no extra cost to them. Give once and you're recognised next time, so there is nothing to fill in again.

Capture more donations on the spot

Take card and contactless donations the moment supporters want to give — no fumbling for cash, no app downloads, no friction.

Claim 25% more with Gift Aid

Donors make their declaration on screen in seconds. Every eligible gift is captured with the name, address and postcode HMRC requires, so your charity can claim an extra 25p for every £1 given.

Built for charities, not retailers

Suggested amounts, built-in Gift Aid capture, branded receipts and clear donation reporting — designed for fundraising teams, not tills.

How charities take donations with Facilipay

Donations App on Payment Terminals

Install the Facilipay Donations app on your payment terminals and turn every device into a portable fundraising tool. Volunteers and staff can prompt for a donation in seconds at events, in-store, at the church door, after a service or anywhere supporters are ready to give.

  • Tap-to-donate on smart terminals
  • Suggested giving amounts
  • Branded on-screen and printed receipts

Gift Aid captured at the point of giving

Once the donor has chosen an amount, the terminal offers Gift Aid and shows exactly what it's worth — a £5 gift becomes £6.25. One tap opens a short declaration with only the fields you've chosen to ask for, and the donor confirms they're a UK taxpayer. The declaration is stored against the donation, ready for your HMRC claim.

  • One tap adds 25% at no extra cost to the donor
  • Name, address and postcode captured to HMRC's requirements
  • Declaration stored against every eligible donation

Returning donors never fill it in twice

Regular givers are the ones who matter most, and they shouldn't have to re-enter their address every week. A donor who has given before is recognised from their phone number and postcode, their declaration is already on file, and they go straight to payment. Anyone who would rather not can skip the whole thing and simply tap their card.

  • Recognised by phone number and postcode
  • Declaration already on file — straight to payment
  • Donors can always skip and just tap to give

You control the whole thing from your dashboard

Choose how many donation amounts appear on screen and what they are. Switch Gift Aid on, then decide which donor details are requested and which are mandatory — the terminal preview updates as you go, so you always see what the donor will see. Add your charity number and your average payment charge, because HMRC claims must be made exclusive of processing fees.

  • Up to six preset amounts, plus a custom amount
  • Choose which donor details are requested and required
  • Charity number and payment charge feed claim calculations

Donation Pay-by-Link

Send a donation link by SMS, email, WhatsApp or social post. Supporters tap the link, choose an amount and pay with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — no donation form to build, no plugin to install, no website redesign required.

  • Shareable donation links
  • Card, Apple Pay & Google Pay
  • Perfect for campaigns and appeals

Built around how charities actually fundraise

Events and collections

Hand volunteers a Facilipay terminal at a fundraising event, gala or street collection so no donor walks away because they didn't have cash.

Foyers, lobbies and venues

Place a self-service donation kiosk in a high-footfall area so supporters can give on their way in or out — completely unattended.

Appeals and campaigns

Share a donation pay-by-link with your supporter database, on social or in a printed mailer to drive donations to a specific campaign or appeal.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions
Can charities take card donations on a payment terminal?
Yes. The Facilipay Donations app runs on smart payment terminals, so charities can prompt for a donation amount and accept card, contactless and mobile wallet payments anywhere a terminal can be carried.
Can the same terminal be used in self-service kiosk mode?
Yes. The Donations app can switch into kiosk mode so a terminal becomes an unattended donation point. Merchants set one or more predefined donation amounts that supporters tap to donate, and the kiosk completes the gift without any staff present.
Is the Facilipay donations kiosk Gift Aid compatible?
Yes. The self-service donations flow is fully Gift Aid compatible. Donors can register their donation against their name and address directly on the kiosk screen, so your charity can claim Gift Aid on every eligible gift and report on it from the same dashboard.
Can charities send donation links?
Yes. Facilipay lets you generate donation pay-by-links that can be sent by SMS, email, WhatsApp or shared on social. Donors tap the link, pick an amount and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — no website integration needed.
Do donations from terminals, kiosks and links all come together?
Yes. All giving channels flow into the same Facilipay Donations app, so charities have one place to manage suggested amounts, branding, campaigns and reporting across every donation route.
Can we run multiple campaigns or causes at once?
Yes. Charities can run multiple causes or campaigns side by side and tag each donation against the right one, so you can see exactly which appeal, event or location drove which donations.
Can supporters get a receipt for their donation?
Yes. Branded receipts can be printed on the terminal, shown on the kiosk screen or emailed to the donor — useful for the donor's records and for charities that need to evidence donations.
Does Facilipay provide reporting for charities?
Yes. Charities get reporting on donations by channel, campaign and location, average gift size, donor conversion on pay-by-link and exportable data for the finance and fundraising team.
How much extra does Gift Aid add to a donation?
Gift Aid lets a UK charity reclaim the basic-rate tax already paid on an eligible donation — an extra 25p for every £1, at no additional cost to the donor. A £10 gift becomes £12.50 for your charity. The donor must be a UK taxpayer who has paid enough Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax that year to cover the amount reclaimed.
What details do we need to collect for a Gift Aid claim?
HMRC requires the donor's full name, their home address including postcode, and confirmation that they are a UK taxpayer. Facilipay captures all of these on screen at the moment of giving, and you choose in the dashboard which additional details — such as phone number or email — are requested and which are mandatory.
